To honour Quentin Tarantino’s work a black book cover was printed and glued to a 11×6in book and the use of bold yellow type was used to recreate the general ambiance of his movies. A film strip looking book sleeve was printed to honour Tarantino’s 10 movies, his vision of cinema and his knowledge with some of his quotes inside the film strip.
My artist was the famous movie director Quentin Tarantino. A sample layout had to be designed and an IPad application adaptation was the second part of this project. The Ipad adaptation was prototyped and animated with Adobe After Effects.
The true purpose of this book cover was to create the identity of Quentin Tarantino. Hence, putting the “written and directed by” on the back cover which reflects the unusual editing style of Tarantino. The layout is dynamic and cinematic through the image treatment and the great presence of negative space. The Ipad Application’s design is enhanced with a parallax effect and a layout divided in two which facilitates the reading. When reading and scrolling the images will use the parallax effect and scroll simultaneously with the content.
The book cover reflected my vision over Tarantino’s work and sense of aesthetic. It was successful because the book cover as well as the Ipad Application both use the same codes than Tarantino uses in his movies. Using imagery from his movies and typography were the main tools of this project.

To successfully achieve this challenge, I had to discover the work of the main artists of the movement and reinterpret the codes of the movement in order to find the right concept this project.
