Web Design

Moodboards, sitemaps and design systems were to be created along with wireframes and prototypes before jumping into Webflow for the integration. For the user interface, sunny colours like a saturated blue, sky blue and sand beige worked well together. The use of the elegant typeface Voyage by Violaine & Jeremy allowed contrast and white balance. For the user experience, 3D images reflecting each section of the website were rendered out and integrated in Webflow. The images move when scrolling up or down in order to enhance the user experience and illustrate each section of the cityguide. Hovers and buttons were also part of the UX design.

The travel guide is successful because it expresses the ambiance of the city of La Rochelle: sunny, nautical and vibrant. The city guide was developed to show the authenticity of La Rochelle with its fine restaurants and bars, its unique medieval monuments and architectures as well as its nice accommodations and exciting activities. Using contrast in the user interface and strong user experience elements definitely honoured La Rochelle’s unique city experience.

The purpose of this project was to create the user experience and interface design (UX and UI) of a travel guide website. The chosen city is La Rochelle, a very touristic and charming city situated in the west of France. La Rochelle is also the city where I was born. The prototype is available here.

Creating a dynamic, colorful and vibrant website were the main goals of the mandate because these elements are significant to the city of La Rochelle which is a coastal city offering many nautical activities. Developed for a young audience, the use of 3D in the website brought dimension and interaction to the user experience.
